Yes so this post is about Angkor Wat. Boring
Haven’t been going out of the house much ever since I was back because it’s just too expensive to go out for some coffee break, let alone having a meal. With the GST being implemented a few months ago, I thought I might as well just stay at home and rot. Ok I have digressed, let’s just go back to Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat is surrounded by a lake.
This is a really tall statue (my dad is 170cm) somewhere near the entrance of the temple. Before you get to go into the main building of the Angkor Wat which is the main attraction, you have to sorta go through the smaller temples surrounding it, which are also part of the Angkor Wat.
Man look at these. Had to sharpen it a little cause they were a bit blurry, thanks to my smart ass brain thinking that I only need a 30mm to shoot all these.
The exterior.
I can imagine how beautiful the carvings must have been centuries ago.
Strolling in the garden before we proceed to the main structure of the Angkor Wat.
Ok here you go the main attraction.
I think these are the library where people used to come here to study centuries ago. I hope I’m not telling the wrong things and I’m sorry if I do because I visited this place a year ago, obviously I can’t remember every single details about them. Well one thing I’m sure are the names of every temples because I still have the itinerary of our trip.
Under reconstruction.
Let’s just skip all the walking part and go straight into the building. So these are the three structures that you can see from far, and they were pretty massive, I feel like I’m in a castle lol. On the third picture you can actually spot a bee hive hanging on the edge, apparently the hives are one of the main attraction as well. And there were a lot of bee hives, not just one. Not sure if you can see the dark brown colour thingy hive.
Too many tourists. This is the open air bathing pool, and there were 3 of them (if I’m not mistaken) for normal citizens, the governors and the royal family.
Look at how steep the stairs are, walking up was easy but walking down, hell there wasn’t anything for you to hold on to. I guess that’s why they put a fence in front of it, to prevent anyone from climbing up the stairs and cause any unnecessary accidents.
This should give you an idea of how steep the stairs are.
Not sure what are these rocks for.
Chilling in the dried up bathing pool.
Looking down from above.
The going down part is cray. My dad was holding on tightly to the hand rail, so you can tell where did I get my acrophobia from. My mum on the other hand, enjoyed it so much she went up the stairs again so that she could have a photo of her going up the stairs.
Random street performers.
Bye Angkor Wat.
Sorry for the bad quality pictures cause some of them were taken using my iphone 4. Next stop was catching sunset on some temple.
